  • Overview

    Position is responsible for providing quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their education goals and career aspirations. Instructs and facilitates a meaningful learning experience of the course competencies in the curriculum and actively participates in departmental meetings and activities in support of the general development of students and the College.


    1. Competent in subject matter with official credentials and qualifications.

    2. Prepare to teach classes in accordance with current course syllabus and use varied teaching methods. 

    3. Provide each student with a syllabus/course outline summarizing course objectives and requirements, textbooks and other sources to be used, assignments, and applicable attendance and grading rules. 

    4. Prepare a course outline for each course taught each semester.

    5. Ensure that each course contains essential curricular components has appropriate content and pedagogy, and maintains currency.

    6. Advise students to their best ability referring them to the Academic Success Center for tutoring.

    7. Incorporate instructional technologies in instructional delivery. 

    8. Enforce college polices and handle behavior issues in class (announce rules at the beginning of course: cell phones, lateness, late assignments, attendance).

    9. Advise students about academic matters by means of scheduling office hours. 

    10. Review syllabus, outlines, textbooks, and curricula and submit recommendations to supervisor.

    11. Become thoroughly familiar with all college policies and procedures and comply with all college policies and procedures.

    12. Teach their assigned courses in a manner consistent with course content, class times and locations, and course credit. 



    • Master’s degree in related field preferred (Practical Nursing, RN, APT, or Medical Assisting degree combined with related experience may be acceptable for Medical Insurance and Billing.
    • 2 to 5 years teaching experience preferably in a higher education setting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Passion and ability to motivate students.
